Bugs: Arabic doesnt render correctly

Column doesnt render correctly when arabic join the game.

Test 1. MariaDB mycli
Test 2. pspg col_with_arabic.csv

Env: gnome terminal, pspg-5.8.11

looks like gnome-terminal issue In other terminals I don't see a problem with formatting. Please, can you try konsole or some other non libvte terminal? Probably there will be more issues - I am not sure how the old applications can work with right-to-left languages - minimally in psql or pspg, there is zero support :-/ Your content has some special unicode characters that are ignored by psql, pspg and other terminals, and then the text is displayed "correctly". But the gnome terminal tries to process these characters - and then the layout is broken. Unfortunately, I have zero experience with this kind of languages displaying in terminal —

It’s better if we support this issue, since gnome-terminal is gnome default emulator. I’ll try to inspect gnome issue, with no promises. xD

kgx is VTE based terminal (it uses same engine like gnome-terminal.

I cannot to fix this issue on pspg side without full implementation of RTL (Right To Left) languages inside pspg. This is lot of code and mainly I have zero experience in this area. More fixing libvte helps to everybody - not just pspg users.

There is some problem with detection of the ending of RTL. When following column will be text, then all is ok select ar, en from your_tab -- ok select ar, 0, en from your_tab -- is broken another question is if your text in arabic is correct - maybe there some invisible chars are missing ? —
