The built site does not serve /javascript properly

I'm using the recommended command:

npx http-server dist/

Calling /javascript prioritizes redirection to /javascript/ and serves the directory listing (when we'd want the javascript.html page).

The question was if this was going to be a common issue for users.

This issue applies to whatever static file server you’re using, not the CLI. GitHub Pages handles this fine, but http-server does not. I don’t think there’s anything we can do about this other than document the behavior. #69

I forgot something interesting… for d3js.org we setup redirects in Cloudflare to fix e.g. https://d3js.org/d3-array/ to redirect to https://d3js.org/d3-array.

We didn’t set those links up for Plot, so https://observablehq.com/plot/features/scales/ is a broken page, even though it does a client-side redirect to https://observablehq.com/plot/features/scales, so reloading gets you to a valid page.

But it also occurs to me that we don’t currently generate a 404 page like VitePress does. Maybe we should do that, and then perhaps the 404 page can handle the redirect using JavaScript?
