Twelve links inside localized docs pages drop the locale prefix, so a Chinese reader clicking them lands on the English page #1592
Every one of those targets ships a .zh-Hans.mdx and a .zh-Hant.mdx, so the prefixed form resolves in all 12 cases.
Why nothing catches it
test/docs-anchor-links.test.ts judges anchored links only — "does this anchor resolve", never which locale the path opens.
.github/workflows/link-check.yml is configured file-extension: '.md' and opens zero .mdx pages, deliberately (its own header records why).
The apps/docs build does not resolve markdown link targets.
Suggested shape
Mechanical: prefix the 12 links. It is small enough to be worth a guard in the same pass — the rule is expressible without an editorial judgement ("a site-absolute /docs/… link on a .zh-Han{s,t} page carries the page's own locale prefix, when the target ships that locale"), and it is the shape that keeps the ratio from drifting back. ⚠️ A guard should assert the target's translation exists rather than rewriting blind, and the count above (12 / 619) is the baseline it should reduce to zero.
Refs #1402 (where this surfaced) · #1401 (where 2 of the 12 landed)
Naked since filing (2026-09-05T15:40:28Z); named in the R38 closing briefing as deliberately left ungraded, picked up by this fire's sweep disjunction ①.
Premise re-verified on origin/main @ 81a79ee — the defect holds exactly, the control has drifted
The card measured at 1486ec0; main has moved twice since (ccfe8e2, 3497c88, 81a79ee).
The −7 is #1590 (the R38 FAQ rewrite) deleting troubleshooting prose that carried prefixed links. ⇒ the defect count is unchanged and the card is fully live, but its denominator is stale. ⛔ Whoever takes this re-measures both numbers rather than quoting 619.
Type Bug
This is the one of the three R38 findings that is a Bug rather than a Task: it is not a false statement, it is a behavioural defect — a reader of a Chinese page clicks and is silently taken to the English one. It breaks an invariant this repo holds in 612 of 624 site-absolute links, and pm:queue explicitly收 恢复不变量的 fixes. Nothing widens ⇒ not Feature.
⛔ Seat ruling: the 12-link fix is IN scope. The guard is NOT. ⛔ Do not build it here.
The card's Suggested shape proposes a guard in the same pass, arguing "it is the shape that keeps the ratio from drifting back". That phrasing is what disqualifies it. AGENTS.md § 3. ⛔ Do not build platform-level tooling here (the 2026-08-31 ruling), origin/main @ 81a79ee, lines 431–435, verbatim:
Lint, validation, gates and diagnostics belong to the platform, uniformly. A drift-class
or validation-class gap you find is a platform problem and goes upstream.
Tests in this repo pin this repo's own business facts and nothing else — a seed-row
pin, a "doc wording equals the language-pack label" guard. ⛔ Do not grow a gate farm.
A locale-prefix-on-links rule pins no business fact of this repo — it is a generic docs-site link convention, i.e. exactly the drift-class gap the ruling sends upstream. The sanctioned neighbour in that same sentence ("doc wording equals the language-pack label") is allowed because it pins this repo's own labels; this one does not. Precedent in the ruling's own footer: #1423 — the comment-volume gate was deliberately not built.
And ⛔ do not file the upstream card either, this round. Epic #1579 step 6 froze this exact family: "frozen: no new docs-drift tests; no card; revisit when a platform doc-lint exists". The candidate is recorded here for that revisit. Filing a third upstream docs-lint card against a standing freeze would be noise, and #1579 is held by another session ⇒ ⛔ not this seat's to add to.
⇒ Scope for dispatch: prefix the 12 links, verify each target ships the locale, three-face parity where the page has one. Nothing else.
Claim: PM loop round 39
Session: session_018xtjdpZFjgWh4Ad9Wcx68J
Branch: claude/issue-1592-locale-prefix-links
Worktree: hotcrm-issue-1592
Domain: repo:hotcrm (single-lane repo — no domain:* prerequisite)
File surface: content/docs/** — exactly the 10 localized pages carrying the 12 links (administration/sandbox-and-releases, reference/faq, sales/opportunities, service/cases, service/index, each .zh-Hans.mdx + .zh-Hant.mdx), plus .changeset/. ⛔ No test/**, no new guard — see the grading comment's ruling. (stop on breach; explain in the report)
Container & model: M, mode:subagent, model: opus (default judgement tier). ⚠️node scripts/pm/dispatch-gates.mjs --tier content/docs/reference/faq.zh-Hans.mdx content/docs/sales/opportunities.zh-Hans.mdx, run this round, returns "no path-derived mandate … floor sonnet · default opus · ceiling fable" and reports both paths absent from the objectstack tree it reads — "Not evidence either way". ⇒ tier is this seat's judgement. ⛔ Not the floor tier despite the mechanical edit: no gate in this repo can see this defect (that is the card's own finding), so correctness is not mechanically judged, and the scope discipline — refusing the guard the card proposes — is the judgement.
Clause-②: no
Serial constraints cleared: content/docs/** fence is per page. ⛔ #1591 is fenced behind this card on content/docs/reference/faq.zh-Han{s,t}.mdx (it edits lines 107/120 of the same two files; this card edits line 160) — fold refused at gate ①, serial, #1591 next fire. The other queued content/docs/** cards (#1410 · #1397 · #1395 · #1422 · #1566 · #1541 · #1542) are on different pages and none is in flight. Cross-seat: epic PM session_01DuzfS5chho38Yx1jxx9DEj holds #1596 (claim 22:25:29Z), surface src/** + src/translations/** + scripts/wow1-live-schema.sh ⇒ no intersection with content/docs/**. ⚠️ Both PRs will add a .changeset/*.md; distinct filenames, no conflict.

PR shape
draft, base main, Fixes #1592 — ✓
Changed files vs declared surface
11: the 10 localized .mdx + .changeset/chinese-docs-links-keep-their-locale.md. ⛔ No test/**, ⛔ no guard, ⛔ no upstream card — the seat ruling was respected in full — ✓
Defect count
spot-checked on the patches, not on the report's word: 1+1+1+1+2+2+1+1+1+1 = 12 link edits — ✓
⭐ Per-file locale correctness
each .zh-Hans.mdx received /zh-Hans/… and each .zh-Hant.mdx received /zh-Hant/…. ⛔ Not a blanket prefix — the two faces of every family differ correctly — ✓
Diff integrity
every changed line differs from its previous form only by the inserted locale segment; links stay site-absolute as ruled — ✓
⭐ The ablation is the reason this is accepted on evidence rather than on greens
The dev restored the defect on disk from 81a79ee (proving the restore byte-exact by git hash-object against the pre-fix blobs), re-ran, and measured pnpm test still green and pnpm hygiene still green with all twelve defects present.
⇒ No gate in this repo can distinguish the defect from the fix, so no green is evidence for this change — and the report explicitly declines to offer any as such. That is the lane's own "name the property the check actually establishes" rule, executed unprompted and on the harder side (it would have been easier to list eight greens and call it proven).
What the acceptance actually rests on, all positive and independent of the gates:
12/12 targets verified to ship the page's own locale before rewriting — so no prefix converted a silent wrong-language landing into a 404, which would have been strictly worse.
654/654 prefixed links in localized pages resolve to an existing localized file after the fix; 0 unprefixed ](/docs/…) remain; no English page carries a locale prefix.
The mechanism is named from the docs config rather than assumed: hideLocale: 'default-locale' puts English at /docs/…, so the prefixed spellings are the only ones that open a translated page.
⭐ The strongest evidence that the twelve were errors and not authorial choice: at six of the twelve sites the same target is already linked with the prefix elsewhere in the same file — the FAQ links Integrations prefixed on one line and unprefixed eight lines later.
⭐ A correction to THIS SEAT's measurement — owned
The dispatch order gave the control as "612 correctly prefixed". That number reproduces only as a matching-line count; counted as occurrences at the same ref it is 642, because 30 lines carry two or more prefixed links. My numerator (12) was an occurrence count that happens to equal its line count, so the 12/612 ratio I handed over mixed units.
⚠️ Instrument note for the lane, since this is the second time a counting method has bitten here: git grep -o … | wc -l did not yield occurrence counts in this environment — it behaved as a per-line count. ⛔ Do not assume -o gives occurrences; state the method with the number. The dev stated both figures with their methods in the PR body and quoted the card's stale 619 nowhere, which is the right handling.
Also confirmed by the dev and worth recording: the card's FAQ line numbers (:160) are stale — the links sit at :156 at 81a79ee, because #1590 shortened the file above them. The other four families' line numbers matched the card exactly.
Deviations, accepted
No second claim comment, with the conflict declared rather than silently resolved — the second dev this round to flag it, which makes it systematic rather than incidental. The dispatch order was wrong and this seat's order carried the defect; being filed to the domain:skills lane, not settled here.
0 MCP calls — every read and write went over repo-scoped REST, probed reachable first. ⚠️ That contradicts the inherited "the free read channel is gone — HTTP 403" reading from an earlier shift. ⛔ Neither reading is inherited going forward: probe.
Report-comment footer is appended by the platform, not substituted; parse the JSON as the first { through its matching }.
⇒ Path surface is clean (content/docs/** + .changeset/ — neither is governed), Clause-② no ⇒ ready → merge queue.

The binding standard clauses say the opposite: the PM dispatch sets the assignee and posts the Claim: for its dev, who inherits both, checks that the newest Claim: names its branch, and posts NO second claim. Comment 5555229653 already names branch claude/issue-1592-locale-prefix-links and session_018xtjdpZFjgWh4Ad9Wcx68J — my branch and my session. I therefore posted no second claim and am declaring the conflict rather than silently picking a side. Assignee untouched (it was already os-steve).",
"DENOMINATOR METHOD — the PM's 'I measure 612 at 81a79ee' reproduces only as a MATCHING-LINE count (grep -c: 306 + 306 = 612). Counting link OCCURRENCES at the same ref gives 321 + 321 = 642; 30 lines carry two or more prefixed links. The numerator 12 is an occurrence count (which happens to also be 12 lines), so a 12/612 ratio mixes units. Defect count 12 is unaffected and was confirmed exactly. Both numbers are stated in the PR body with the method named; the card's 619 is not quoted anywhere.",
"CARD LINE NUMBERS STALE — the card places the FAQ links at faq.zh-Han{s,t}.mdx:160; at 81a79ee they are at :156 (#1590 shortened the file above them). The other four families' line numbers (193, 42/44, 156, 39) match the card exactly.",
"REPORT COMMENT FOOTER — the report comment body is the os-dev-report marker as its literal first line followed by this JSON. Measured on the first post: the platform APPENDS the bare-form signature block to a comment that carries none, so the comment does not end at the JSON's closing brace. It is appended, not substituted — the read-back diff was append-only, 4 added lines, nothing of the payload altered. Parse the JSON as the first '{' through its matching '}', not as everything after line 1."

✅ ACCEPT — PR #1599. Reviewed against GitHub, ⛔ not against the report's self-description.

The dev restored the defect on disk from
81a79ee(proving the restore byte-exact bygit hash-objectagainst the pre-fix blobs), re-ran, and measuredpnpm teststill green andpnpm hygienestill green with all twelve defects present.⇒ No gate in this repo can distinguish the defect from the fix, so no green is evidence for this change — and the report explicitly declines to offer any as such. That is the lane's own "name the property the check actually establishes" rule, executed unprompted and on the harder side (it would have been easier to list eight greens and call it proven).
What the acceptance actually rests on, all positive and independent of the gates:
](/docs/…)remain; no English page carries a locale prefix.hideLocale: 'default-locale'puts English at/docs/…, so the prefixed spellings are the only ones that open a translated page.⭐ A correction to THIS SEAT's measurement — owned
The dispatch order gave the control as "612 correctly prefixed". That number reproduces only as a matching-line count; counted as occurrences at the same ref it is 642, because 30 lines carry two or more prefixed links. My numerator (12) was an occurrence count that happens to equal its line count, so the 12/612 ratio I handed over mixed units.
git grep -o … | wc -ldid not yield occurrence counts in this environment — it behaved as a per-line count. ⛔ Do not assume-ogives occurrences; state the method with the number. The dev stated both figures with their methods in the PR body and quoted the card's stale 619 nowhere, which is the right handling. Also confirmed by the dev and worth recording: the card's FAQ line numbers (
:160) are stale — the links sit at:156at81a79ee, because #1590 shortened the file above them. The other four families' line numbers matched the card exactly.Deviations, accepted
