Support for v2

v3 is in beta for almost one year, and v2.x is not supported any more.

I appreciate your effort on V3, but there are projects that live in meanwhile. I don't understand why wouldn't you create branch "2.x" and allow community to provide support there...

#381 could be merged there.

We can do that... My focus at the moment is to get v3 out (which will be happening probably today or tomorrow). Once that is done, I'll create a `2.s branch and that can be maintained separately.

Done, there is now a 2.x branch. If you resubmit there, I'll code review and cut a release once merged.
