whole URL not selected when clicking on urlbar

In most browsers, when the urlbar is clicked the whole URL is selected to make it easier to go to another website instead of manually selecting the whole URL and then replacing it with a new one. Firefox does this, but when I use this theme the URL in the popover urlbar is not selected, so I have to manually do that. Would be nice if there was at least an option to toggle whether the URL should be automatically selected.

I did some testing and found out a very weird thing. If I click on the urlbar by tapping on my trackpad (on macbook) the whole url is selected, but not when I click using mouse or trackpad. Also, when the popover is disabled the whole url is selected.

I looked at the code and added

#urlbar-input {
  user-select: all;
}

below #urlbar[breakout-extend] in @media not (-moz-bool-pref: "shimmer.disable-popover-urlbar") which should select all text, but instead it doesn't.

I have no idea how to fix it either, but I know it has something to do with the popover. I'll try to solve it again later.

Btw, did some testing again and found out that the problem is with the positioning. If I remove margin-top: 12vh; from #urlbar[breakout-extend] the url is selected. Maybe it's just a bug with firefox, but I'm not sure. The easiest way to solve this would be to use javascript, but that would require extensions.

yeah it's about the position change. as you said fixing this probably means using js. i don't even notice this because i'm using ctrl-l, but i know a lot of people don't. i won't close this, just add wontfix for now. i hope you find a way to help!!!!!
