people (like this) have apparently tried to implement the Replacement hack without understanding what it does, and not even getting the hack's command-line arguments in the right order, providing great confusion. I want the manual's description to be better at explaining what a horrible idea the hack is, and that people should only use it if they understand what they are doing.
