Feature request
When a user creates a new chat, the cursor isn't placed in the "Send a message" field automatically. Given that this is the step they are likely to want to take next, this would reduce a common point of friction.
The same is true when reloading the conversation. If the user selects text in the conversation before reloading, their cursor won't be active in the "Send a message" field. This forces them to click again to place their cursor before they can do what they are likely wanting to do next.
This wouldn't be so bad if there was a keyboard shortcut for placing focus in that field, but I'm not aware of one.
Motivation
This is a point of ergonomic friction that adds up over time.
Your contribution
I'm an interaction designer, so I can create mockups and prototypes, if they'd be useful.
