When I set up the UBI 8 containers last year (#2193) they were created based on the ubi8:8.1 image, which is now outdated -- it contains OpenSSL 1.1.1c (several versions behind the current OpenSSL 1.1.1k). The Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog flags the 8.1 tag as:
Red Hat strongly recommends updating to the newest image version 8.4-203.1622660121 unless otherwise defined by the support policy of Red Hat, Inc.
I'll look at updating the container to ubi8:latest.
