Steps to reproduce

1. Go to the Talk desktop client settings and switch to monochrome tray icon
2. Restart the client as requested

Expected behaviour

Tell us what should happen

Have a nice looking monochrone icon in the tray area

Actual behaviour

This is how it looks in Linux (GNOME) with the "Tray Icons: Reloaded" extensions. It is just black. If you point on it with the mouse (see screenshot) you have the shadow around it. So icon is there, it is just completely black.

Which distribution is it?

Could you also try to change the theme on Talk Desktop just to make sure this is not just black icon on a black background?

Does it happen with .zip installation as well?

That's it. If I combine the dark theme with the monochrome tray icon it works:

If I switch the theme to light theme the icon becomes black. Imho this is a bug as the theme of the Talk app doesn't change the theme of my operating system ("task bar") and it is a valid use case to use a light theme for then talk app but the task bar is black, like in GNOME. The Nextcloud Files icon also works correctly without switching the whole files app to dark (which is even not possible)

For me, on KDE, this icon looks also weird and not sharp (like the whole experience with that "app" in generall ...)

Same here for Zorin 18 (ubuntu 24.04. base, Talk Desktop 2.0.5):

black square for monochrome icon ...

... otherwise "normal" icon with some kind of black background:

Just tested it on Zorin 17.3 (ubuntu 22.04. based), both icons seems to work normally!
