View "Content changes" notifications are sent for rows that don't match the view filter #3066

Open

Description

@kesselb

Steps to reproduce

  1. As user A, create a table "apps" with a column "maintainer" and a few rows. Some rows have A as maintainer, some have user B.
  2. Create a view "my apps" with the filter "maintainer is equal to Me", and share it with user B.
  3. As B, open the view's settings -> Notifications and enable "Content changes".
  4. As A, edit a row whose maintainer is A.

Expected behavior

  • B is notified only about rows that are in "my apps" for B, i.e. rows where B is the maintainer.
  • B is also notified when a change moves a row into or out of the view, e.g. when the maintainer changes from B to A.

Actual behavior

  • B gets a notification for the row in step 4, even though B can't see that row in the view.
  • This happens for every row create, update and delete in the table, as long as the changed column is visible in the view.
