Taking into account that e2e encrypted files are not processed in webUI at all I suggest to commit showing and manipulating with these files in all sections of the Nextcloud webUI, in particular:

  • showing in recent activities section
  • showing in trash bin
  • displaying in Activities
  • opening in file picker - should be grayed and not possible to open similar to Files

As far as I understand operations with E2E encrypted files and/or folders by now are only possible through clients.
