Prevent duplicate previews in shared folders

Hi there,
I have a shared image folder for my family. For each family member (==share) the preview will be generated. Can we avoid this?

It would be useful to have a global exclusion list by regex. My users have their home directories added to their storage which includes a bunch of . directories including .cache. Some of them include desktop web browser caches which means suddenly I'm generating thumbnails for for all of that cache data.
