multi-user environment?

Is this app designed for a multi-user environment? I've been testing the app with my colleagues, and although each of us has our own Neo4j database, I can still see documents from other users' sessions after logging into my own database. This is quite puzzling, and we're trying to figure out what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi @nkolonne we observed same issue when there are environment variables set for neo4j credentials
check
echo $NEO4J_URI
echo $NEO4J_USERNAME

application connects to this default set credentials even if we specify different credentials in .env
working on fix to resolve this.

is this same issue with you?

I also see similar issue with multiple user and database environment. We notice that source list or ingestion process fails as soon multiple user are logged in with completely different credential set

@kaustubh-darekar , I have seen issue even though we don't have these credential blank in environment variable

Unexpected Document Crossover Between Databases in Multi-User Environment

I created two separate databases, db1 and db2, both initially empty.

After uploading two PDFs to db1, I opened a new browser tab, logged into db2 (a different session), and observed that Lorax.pdf, which was uploaded only to db1, appeared in db2 as well—despite db2 never being used or touched before.

To help debug this, we modified line 914 of Content.tsx as follows, to include database-specific context in the URI:

Could this be a session caching issue, or is there a flaw in how documents are scoped or indexed per database? logs attached as well

I also faced a similar issue. From my rudimentary analysis, the problem lies in the way Neo4jGraph from "langchain-neo4j" is querying the database.

@nkolonne, can you try making this change under get_source_list(self) in graphDB_dataAccess.py:

 query = "MATCH(d:Document) WHERE d.fileName IS NOT NULL RETURN d ORDER BY d.updatedAt DESC"
 result = self.graph.query(query, params={}, session_params={}) <<<<<<<<<<<< Add those params

The app was meant to be single user based on database connection used (and in the future user login).

Do you think multiple people using the same browser is really considered a "multi-user environment" ?

I think this is an edge case that goes a bit beyond our intent. As it would have to separate local storage for different user sessions in the same browser, which is not what most people would expect.

We're working on user logins with more data stored server side but that's a bit out.

In my scenario, we have confirmed the issue with multiple User in there system logging in caused the issue with different database.

Solution by @rdante-dhar has helped to take care issue, we are testing more to confirm

Thanks @rdante-dhar for the suggestion we added the database as session parameter hopefully it resolves the issue we have tested it is working as expected with multiple database
