Thanks for documenting this. Do you happen to be on a corporate network or VPN? I believe this is a networking issue, related to the database (firestore). You can confirm this by opening the browser devtools, and viewing the console tab.

This is the official thread about the issue: firebase/firebase-js-sdk#1674
Given that the firebase team doesn't seem to have a solution, I'm not sure if I can fix this. If the issue continues, at some point I may implement a workaround that doesn't go through Firebase.

@neetcode-gh not the person who posted the issue and i'm not using a VPN and i'm not inside a corporate network either, but the issue still persists.

@neetcode-gh I'm not using any VPN or corporate network. It used to work before when the feature was introduced but later it started to break.

@neetcode-gh I am experiencing the same problem. Functionality is restored when I log out of Google/Github. As soon as I log back in, the issue returns.
