Improve unit tests to validate various content models / scenarios

I'm noticing that we have a number of issues that probably should be caught with good unit tests.

We need to create a set of tests that exercise various features under a number of content scenarios.

I think this one can be a good entry point to understand this project. Could you describe the issues in more detail?
