Idea: Display progress indicator for users

From a user pespective it might be nice to see some sort of progress bar. This could give users a feeling that the extraction is progressing and some estimation of how much time is left

Totally agree. Some ideas could be:

• An indicator at the beginning of every step. e.g.

(1 of 10) Collecting device properties...
(2 of 10) Collecting device settings...
(3 of 10) Collecting list of running processes...
(4 of 10) Collecting environment...
etc

• An indicator like "Extracting XXX files" and the XXX could be an increasing number. e.g.

Extracting list of files... XXX and counting ...
collecting data from temp folder
Generating list of XXX files hashes...

• Other indicator to know if the process is stopped or not pulling information. Could be related to the above indicator.

I like this idea. Not sure how a progress bar would work with additional logs aside but I'll have a look, otherwise @penserbjorne idea sounds good too
