Next measure gets corrupted when attempting to paste into local time signature in a certain situation

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a score with two staves
2. In the second staff, add a local 5/4 time signature
3. In the top staff, in a measure, fill voice 1 with quarter notes
4. In that measure, fill voice 2 with eight notes
5. Click one of the eight notes that does not coincide with one of the quarter notes
6. Shift-click a later eight note to create a range selection
7. Try to paste this into a measure on the staff with the local time signature
   -> the "cannot paste in local time signature" dialog appears, and the next measure clearly gets corrupted because the whole rest disappears

What's the expected behaviour here though? Why can't it just paste as though the notes were added manually one by one to the staff with the local time signature?

I guess when pasting from one staff to one other staff, that would work. It maybe gets complicated with multi-staff selections where either the source material or the target contains different time sigs on different staves.
