Does this library require Github?

Looking for a JavaScript OAuth2 client library/package, but reading the docs I wasn't sure if it somehow required a Github account? In other words, do we have to use Github services to use this package? I was confused because I saw this in the docs:

var githubAuth = new ClientOAuth2({..........

You can use this library to authenticate against any website that supports the OAuth2 protocol.
Github is just used as an example in the docs, because they support OAuth2.
