We should add graphql 17 support. It has been out for more than a month now, and all other major deps that relied on the previous v16 are updating their codebase to support it as well.

Hi @mduchev. Thanks for proposing this. GraphQL 17 support is coming in 3.0 (#2692). In fact, it's already added there and you can use the preview release to give it a try and let me know if you find any bugs.
