git merge -s ours origin/main— records main's out-of-process commits (promotion merge #11842 + changelog squash #11851) as ancestors of Dev_new_gui without altering Dev_new_gui's tree. Standard post-promotion back-merge (mirrors #11768/#11806).Why
Without this, the next Dev_new_gui → main promotion would show main's changelog commits as reverts/conflicts. The
-s oursmerge keeps Dev_new_gui authoritative (working[Unreleased]CHANGELOG) while unblocking clean future promotions.Verification
