Summary
Brave Search operates an independent search index (not a wrapper around Google/Bing), making it useful as a diversity source for agent web research. It offers a generous free tier for AI applications and a paid API for higher volume.

AutoBot Fit
New BraveSearchProvider in autobot-backend/agent_loop/extractors/web_search.py. REST API call to https://api.search.brave.com/res/v1/web/search. API key stored in secrets. Plugin installable from Marketplace.

- Standard search results format (title, url, snippet)
- Handles rate limits and quota errors gracefully

BraveSearchProviderin the newagent_loop/search/registry: async GETapi.search.brave.com/res/v1/web/searchwithX-Subscription-Token, web+news endpoints, 429/quota handling, normalized {title,url,snippet,freshness}. API key viassot_configBRAVE_SEARCH_API_KEY (same idiom as openai/anthropic). Wired into tool_handler with fallback. 19 tests (6 Brave). All 5 ACs met.
