Why is 4:3 content being renderd on the right side of my player?

Mpv seems to sometimes do this without any rhyme nor reason, the file I'm using there is one I have played before and it was centered just fine.

This is my config, I tested with load-scripts=no, and it didn't change anything so it can't be a script.

I do not think it's an issue with the config though because even if I empty out the config I still get this issue, however if I run with --no-config the issue goes away

Edit: I also had the issue occur on 16:9 content:

I think it might have to do with history, if i am viewing a file, like say 4:3 and open a 16:9 file through watch history something like this may happen, and vice versa as well. I'm not sure how to fix it, I tried clearing filters, this seems to be some information that MPV is saving and remembering for the file, not sure how to clear all that shit out. It's not video filters though, I tried clearing those.

Edit: I haven't actually found a reliable way to reproduce this, if i just open different files through mpv's history function a couple times this seems to always eventually happen at some point for some file without any observable pattern, the aspect ratio difference was probably just a coincidence.

I don't know what exactly is causing this to happen, but pressing ALT+Backspace resets panning and fixes it.

So for some reason mpv is panning and zooming my videos sometimes when I open from watch history, weird.

I'm not sure what you mean by clearing the 'dirty' cache, that snippet you showed must be the problem but I don't have a profile called default so I take it that's something that's built in.

Run rm ~/.local/state/mpv/watch_later/* and use --watch-later-options-remove=video-align-x.

I tried doing what guidocella suggested and it seems to have worked, at least i haven't been able to replicate the issue after, gonna mark it as the answer. Although I also did --watch-later-options-remove=video-align-y

I'm not sure what those are supposed to do though.

Check without force-window=immediate. Also what platform is it?
