This is being done for correctness. Firefox Home is now a category of being all the items on one page.
Verification here is just to make sure they are still working and locking.
FYI, we have open bugs on locking not working on new tab settings (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1983258)
