Tries to open sh script as text

I'm on Ubuntu 23.04 with Kodi 21.1-Omega.

When trying to launch a script, it asks to open it in vim or nvim. I'm not sure if this is because I'm using flatpaks.

This is a shame as this is exactly the kind of no-nonsense simple application launcher that I was looking for.

Sorry, missed this. I don't have a Linux install atm to test on, but some things to troubleshoot would be:

1. does the script have the proper permission to execute? (chmod +x)
2. does the script start with the correct shebang? (#!/bin/bash)

I've just came across this addon and was having problems getting anything to be executed on Linux.

I don't know Python but it looks like the script is using "xdg-open" on Linux:

elif xbmc.getCondVisibility('system.platform.linux'):
subprocess.Popen(['xdg-open', path])

which I'm guessing is the cause of what you are seeing.

I'm not sure if "xdg-open" has been used for a specific reason but, I simply changed the script to call the defined executable directly and everything started working as expected:

elif xbmc.getCondVisibility('system.platform.linux'):
subprocess.Popen(path)
