Font Awesome icons in skins with black footer not visible

Environment

• Minimal Mistakes version: 4.20.2
• Ruby gem or remote theme version: jekyll-remote-theme 0.4.2
• Jekyll version: 3.9
• Git repository URL: https://github.com/dleidert/www.wgdd.org
• GitHub Pages hosted (if yes provide URL to site): no (builds locally and on travis)
• Operating system: Debian Linux

Expected behavior

I'm using the neon skin and the contrast skin. In both some fa icons (e.g. github) in regions with a black background color (e.g. the footer in this case) are not visible.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

It can be reproduced by building the test folder in the mm theme using the neon or the contrast skin. The github icon in the footer is not (hardly) visible.

Also it would be nice to have a general class for fa icons in the footer or in the sidebar so the icons have the same color as the ones already handled in the CSS stylesheets like github, email or instagram.
