Harmony detection tuning

Hello! Thank you for development, i find it really helpful as drummer - works with a grid amazingly in all my applications so far!

I am also learning bass, and while your algorithm detects chords decently, and that absolutely helps - is it possible to optionally tune detection settings? To detect either lowest root (for bass), or chord (for midrange instruments). For now it gets thrown off by some loud vocals, sometimes missing changes happening in lows.

Forgive my guitaristic ignorance: I think(!) I know what you mean, and I added an option that focuses on bass rather than chords. Also, the adjustment picker now acts according to the selected detection mode.
This will be in 0.10, so I'll keep this issue open. Feel free to report back if it works as intended.

Hello there! Quick test showed that in balanced mixes bass-focus detection works great, although in vocal dominant mix it gets thrown off by vox melody.

Also i used this track to directly compare Rubber ring in Bass mode to Chord tracker by Ymaha, second one shows more stable harmony detection, especially in choruses (where vocal is really pronounced) ZOLOTO - Не верь слезам.mp3

Thanks for reporting back and the provided track — that's genuinely useful. Bass mode working well in balanced mixes is valuable feedback.

On the vocal-dominance: I had a look at the audio and there's no bass instrument in it. "Bass notes" really reads only that part of the spectrum, so on that mix the voice is the only thing there to follow.

So I've now added a third mode, "Chord roots", which might be a better fit for tracks like this:
From the help section:
"Chords as single notes ... The lane then names each chord's root as one note — the harmony simplified, not the bass line. Unlike Bass notes it reads the whole mix, so it does not need an audible bass line."

It'll be in the next release. I'd be glad to know whether it holds up better.
