Previous search is restored when switching crates even after search is cleared

Bug Description

1. Change to Crate A
2. enter a search
3. switch to Crate B
4. switch back to Crate A
5. clear the search
6. switch to Crate B
7. switch back to Crate A one more time

the previous search is restored instead of being empty. My guess is during the clear operation, the crate is not receiving the signal that the search has been cleared.
