WebPage crashes on drag-drop file into bucket

Web console crashed when I try to upload file to any bucket using drag-and-drop. It shows following error:

RESULT_CODE_KILLED_BAD_MESSAGE

I've tested it in Chrome and Opera.

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1. Open any bucket in web console
2. Drag and drop any file to this bucket

Your Environment

• MinIO version used (minio --version): minio version RELEASE.2025-03-12T18-04-18Z (commit-id=dbf31af6cb0d5ea33b277b6e461cfea98262778e)
• Server setup and configuration: 4 nodes with 4 disks on each
• Operating System and version (uname -a): Linux minio-1 5.15.0-134-generic Proxy API For Mkube #145-Ubuntu SMP Wed Feb 12 20:08:39 UTC 2025 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Duplicate of #3520. We are not able to reproduce this. Can you try to run MinIO locally, using:

docker run -p 9000:9000 -p 9001:9001 quay.io/minio/minio:RELEASE.2025-03-12T18-04-18Z server /data --console-address ":9001"

Then navigate to http://localhost:9001 and try the same. Please also specify the Chrome and Opera version you are using.

Tried it and also page crashes in Chrome and Opera.

Chrome version: 134.0.6998.36
Opera version: 117.0.5408.142

Tried at 2 different PCs.

It looks like Chrome (based browsers) doesn't allow drag/drop on some systems without HTTPS enabled. Can you try again using HTTPS?

It's strange, but when I try to use MinIO console via our reverse proxy with https enabled it returns following:

You need to enable JavaScript to run this app.

Other web apps works fine through this proxies.

Something should be off with your configuration. MinIO has a lot of HTTPS enabled consoles via a reverse proxy.
