How to install themes on Xfce 4? #1

I'm not sure how to use this repo properly. I cloned the repo and copied the theme files to ~/.local/share/themes. But I don't see any PiXflat themes in the Xfce Window Manager settings. When I look at https://wiki.xfce.org/howto/install_new_themes it says

Make sure the directory layout looks like this: ~/.local/share/themes/<theme_name>/xfwm4/

But there are no xfwm4 directories in the themes in this repo. What am I missing?

The GTK themes seemed to have installed fine.

Environment I'm on:

  • Debian 13 based distro
  • Xfce 4.20
  • Xfwm4 window manager
  • SLiM login manager
  • GTK2, GTK3, Lib GTK4

I'm not too concerned with how the login screen looks, for now. I'm just noting it because it is a difference from typical Debian 11/Raspbian/Raspberry Pi OS.
Despite not having a seamless install from the repo files, I did manage to do some manual tweaking of my Desktop and it looks closer to Raspberry Pi (not as close as your screenshot on Reddit). In fact, the biggest differences that remain are the Window decorations and the top Panel.
