Setting format string on numeric column changes horizontal alignment from right to left #714

Description
Numeric colums are aligned to the right by default. However, after setting the Format property on the column, the alignment changes to the left, as if it was a text column.
Expected behavior: alignment should not change. Or even better, a separate property should be added to the column configuration to configure alignment.
