Summary

split the installer into guard, wrapper, and desktop helper modules under src/lib
simplify the main script to delegate guardrails, wrapper creation, and desktop entry generation
expand smoke tests, lint instructions, and add a Makefile with common tasks (check/devcontainer)

make check
