# RÈGLE PCB (*PCB RULER*, in French) | ||
|
||
<!-- Describe your board in 2-3 sentences. What are you making? What will it do? --> | ||
I decided to create a custom ruler PCB for my school robotics team, bearing our logo and name as well as that of our main sponsors. It is at the crossroads of electronic design (due to the very nature of PCBs) and of art. | ||
I plan to personally hand one to each and every single one of our team members. | ||
|
||
<!-- How much is it going to cost? --> | ||
$59.59 USD (incl. shipping) | ||
|
||
<!-- Tell us a little bit about your design process. What were some challenges? What helped? ***Totally optional*** --> | ||
See [my design process in more detail](docs/workflow.md). My main challenge was vectorising bitmap graphics, and the best solution was hard work and patience. |

# Pourquoi une documentation bilingue? | ||
|
||
# Quelle est la langue principale du projet? | ||
|
||
# Impacts sur les contributeurs | ||
|
||
# Particularités (sections unilingues du projet) | ||
|Section |Langue | | ||
|-----------------------------------------------------|--------| | ||
|Documentation |Bilingue| | ||
|Conception du circuit imprimé et fichiers connexes |Anglais | | ||
|
||
## *Why a bilingual documentation?* | ||
*This increases the potential public this project reaches: both francophones and anglophones—that | ||
is, a large proportion of the Internet users, programmers and makers from all backgrounds | ||
will be able to read it. Even though this practice requires the duplication of some documents, | ||
it also allows this project to qualify for Hack Club OnBoard, as this programme being managed in English.* | ||
|
||
## *Impacts on contributors* | ||
*If you make pull requests related to documentation (modifications/additions), it would be appreciated if | ||
you translated your changes. If you are unable to do so (insufficient knowledge of French, lack of time), | ||
**clearly indicate on your PR which portions of your work aren't translated**.* | ||
|
||
## *Particularities (unilingual sections of the project)* | ||
|*Section* |*Language* | | ||
|------------------------------------|-----------| | ||
|*Documentation* |*Bilingual*| | ||
|*PCB design and related files* |*English* | | ||
|*PCB (text visible on final result)*|*French* | | ||
|
||
## What is the project's main language? | ||
*French, as is it the main language used at ASTRO, is predominant for this project, but English is used | ||
when it comes to technical documents, given its widespread and international use within the electronics community.* |

# Pourquoi ce projet? | ||
- Graphiques vectoriels | ||
- Lecture de documentation technique | ||
- Conception graphique | ||
- Contribuera, à terme, au développement de l'image de marque d'ASTRO. | ||
|
||
## *Why this project?* | ||
- *Allows to become familiar with the multitude of technical constraints involved in the manufacturing process of a PCB.* | ||
- *Allows to focus on the **physical** aspect of PCB design, and not on the purely **electronical** aspect (allows to familiarise oneself step by step with the process, and to negate the need for component ordering)* | ||
- *Contributes to the development of various transversal skills:* | ||
- *Vector graphics* | ||
- *Reading technical documentation* | ||
- *Graphic design* | ||
- *Will ultimately contribute to the development of ASTRO's brand image.* |
