Type: Bug
- Use "some_line" as the find string (the find string value doesn't matter)
- Enter "$$0" as the replace string
- Apply replace
"some_line" will be replaced with "$$0", instead of "$0". This issue only applies to workspace search (Ctrl+Shift+F). It works fine when replacing in the opened file editor. Also, it seems this issue was already reported (but closed without further investigation) in #82935. I read https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/wiki/Search-Issues, and I imagine the difference has to do with the engines used. However, it would seem that all Rust, PCRE2 and JS engines interpret "$$0" as "$0", so the cause may be elsewhere.
I tried code --disable-extensions, and I was still able to reproduce the issue.
I can trace the issue back to at least 1.105.1.
