Extension cannot find git repo when VS Code didn't open the git root directory

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Git clone a repo

2. Open a subdirectory of the git clone

3. This extension shows a blank view, see output log below:

Same issue. This is a pretty critical issue for monorepos.

if I open the root folder (where .git is) it's working fine.
but if I open a sub folder it won't work anymore. it's showing Found 0 repositories during activation

i tested all previous version, the bug has introduced since github.vscode-pull-request-github-0.119.2025100204

switching to version 0.119.2025100104 solved the issue so far

NB: to install a specific version from the UI -> but I did not find 0.119 , only 0.118.2

Confirming this is broken for us too, going back to 0.118.2 fixes it

Thanks for reporting folks! Would any of you be able to try the latest VS Code Insiders + the latest pre-release version of GitHub Pull requests? I pushed a fix for this today. If I can get confirmation that the issue is resolved I'll make a stable release tomorrow.

@alexr00 , I checked with VS Code insiders + the latest pre-release version of GitHub Pull requests (v0.121.2025101514).
I did some basic tests and it works fine.
