Repro Steps:

1. Create and open a Python project in VS Code.
2. F5.
3. Check whether no error occurs.

Expect:
No error occurs.

Actual:
An error occurs.

Python Functions on M1 (ARM64) is, unfortunately, not yet supported. Such testing will need to be done on an Intel Mac.
