Please select one of the following

  • I am removing an existing difference between facebook/react-native and microsoft/react-native-macos 👍
  • I am cherry-picking a change from Facebook's react-native into microsoft/react-native-macos 👍
  • I am making a fix / change for the macOS implementation of react-native
  • I am making a change required for Microsoft usage of react-native

Summary

As agreed with @HeyImChris & @Saadnajmi during the dedicated meeting, I'm tackling correcting the docs about the strategy to use for the git flows for this repo and its relationship with upstream.

You can more easily check the new&improved file via this preview link.

While at it, I've made an archive folder in which to put some old docs that we want to make clear that are old and potentially very outdated, and cleaned up the Releases.md file since it seems to be a mishmash of an old version of the one that was living upstream with some minor changes. We should really at least get this document setup correct, I'm not sure who the best person for that would be so for now I'm at least removing an element of confusion and misunderstanding.
