Sometimes, at random when writing Python with VS Code, I'll see that status notification at the bottom left that will never go out, even for tiny codebases. It's clearly a visual issue, because I can confirm that if I write nonsense in Python, I'll get a Pylance error, meaning that it got properly analyzed
