Building on top of @opstic's foundational work in #3359 and #3360.
While testing Google Messages against that branch, it was running into a few immediate roadblocks before the verification flow could even engage:
com.google.android.gms.rcs.STARTright off the bat, which upstream routed toDummyService(returningAPI_DISABLED). Added a dedicatedRcsService(svc 189) returningSUCCESSso the client actually proceeds past step 0.AppCertManager.kt, the Android-ID fallback had an unhandledreturn null // TODOwhere the Spatula header proto was getting dropped, causing Google's RPC endpoints to silently fail on devices without full GMS tokens.app_dg_cache/ uppercase hex key) to match stock GMS so unrooted / locked-bootloader setups don't fail local VM lookups.com.google.android.ims.libraryto prevent premature ACS fallback. All credit for the protobuf schemas and core Constellation implementation belongs to @opstic. Just to be completely clear, this PR is not a bounty submission—that credit belongs with @opstic for the original heavy lifting. My only goal here is helping get RCS unblocked by contributing these complementary fixes.
Keeping this in draft to gather logcat feedback across different carriers (test APK is on my fork's v0.3.3-rcs-test release). Whenever @mar-v-in has time to look, happy to rebase, split, or adapt any of these fixes to match whatever upstream integration path you prefer.
