web: redesign Daily Entry after the MUI conversion #907

Part of #674's Phase 3 follow-up redesign. Follow-up to completed slice #830 and implementation PR #888; do not reopen #830. That issue correctly completed the MUI conversion. This slice re-evaluates the resulting screen's composition and visual character after the owner found the converted screens too generic.

Goal

Redesign Daily Entry as a purpose-built field workflow rather than a stock-MUI form. Its primary surface is Operate: fast, unambiguous data capture on a phone in a shed, with desktop supporting the same sequence at wider density.

Design gate

Before production code changes:

• Capture the current built screen at 1280×800 and 390×844, light and dark.
• Use /claude-design to produce at least three materially different compositions: conservative, strong-fit, and divergent. Colour swaps do not count.
• Use real Daily Entry fields, states, copy, and seeded data; do not invent workflow steps.
• Commit the selected design artifact under docs/designs/674-*-redesign/ after owner sign-off.
• Record the chosen direction and rejected alternatives on this issue before implementation.

Behaviour that must survive

• Farm-local date handling and Flock/Date context.
• Draft, submit, lock, adjust, and validation semantics.
• Grade-entry totals, mortality/feed/water fields, and all existing conditional fields.
• Named picker, NumberField, dialog, sticky-action, and missed-announcement contracts.
• All role gates, accessibility names, keyboard behavior, three locales, and 44px phone targets.
• The write contract and every non-CI caller covered by AGENTS.md Daily entry: require grading to reconcile sellable eggs before submit #394.

Acceptance criteria

• Owner selects a rendered direction before production implementation starts.
• The selected design makes the current step, incomplete fields, totals, save state, and submission consequence immediately legible.
• Production matches the approved artifact at 1280×800 and 390×844 in light and dark.
• No horizontal overflow; phone actions remain reachable with the keyboard visible.
• Existing unit, integration, and Playwright behavior remains green; changed interaction states gain tests.
• Before/after screenshots are attached at both viewports and themes, 1:1, from stacks rebuilt at the compared heads.
• The design artifact is committed with the implementation PR.
• The PR body contains Closes #NNN and its closing linkage is verified through GitHub's API.

Out of scope

• Reopening web: convert Daily entry to MUI — field-first phone #830.
• Changing Daily Entry business rules or write contracts merely to fit a mockup.
• Bundling redesigns of other screens into this PR.
