Does the Free VRAM button still work?

I'm getting OOM a lot lately. I think it's happening mostly because I'm generating a few images in the Generate tab to use as reference images before switching to the Comfy tab to load up WAN.

In my workflow I've been using Purge VRAM and it's been working fine, but only in a Comfy workflow.

Switching between image models and WAN causes VRAM to be stuck at anything from 20-ish% all the way up to 99%.

The Free VRAM button is making no difference - it stays stuck on whatever percent is preventing further generations. I don't know if this button ever cleared VRAM in the way I think it's meant to as I've never needed to use it before.

The only fix is to fully restart SwarmUI, which in my case is restarting the Docker container.

It works reliably for me. Whatever's causing your VRAM to get stuck is a bug, and likely outside of Comfy's normal VRAM control. So you'd want to look into what's causing the bug / how to avoid it.
