This is totally untested!
FreeBSD. There's quite a lot to do (notably figure out a bus abstraction type that lets me do this kind of thing at compile-time), and there is plenty of code to split out into different source files.

There's still unfortunately a _lot_ of random Linux-isms sprinkled throughout the driver and there definitely isn't a sane 'hardware' layer split from the 'driver' layer. Sigh.
