This project implements helper objects for doing DNS-SD (also known as Bonjour) in Delphi and Lazarus / Free Pascal applications. This should help developers to more easily create applications that can find counter parts in the local network (and maybe enable them to provide features that are similar to cloud features).
On Windows services can be found and registered. On Android services can be found only.
For Lazarus IDE use mdns4Delphi_laz package, For Delphi use mdns4Delphi package file.
The demo directory contains examples on how to do service discovery.
Currently this project can do service discovery on Windows and Android. Android support only works on Delphi.
For now services can only be registered on Windows. A Linux implementation might follow.
- mdns4Delphi_laz.lpk Lazarus Package File
- mdns4Delphi.dpk Delphi Package File
- mdnsCore.pas contains some shared data types and structures.
- mdnsResolver.pas is a proxy unit that imports mdnsResolverDelphiAndroid or mdnsResolverWindows depending on the current compiler architecture.
- mdnsResolverDelphiAndroid.pas implements a resolver for Delphi on Android. In most cases one will want to use the mdnsResolver unit instead.
- mdnsResolverWindows.pas implements a resolver for Windows that can be used with Delphi and Lazarus / Free Pascal. In most cases one will want to use the mdnsResolver unit instead.
- mdnsService.pas implements a service registration object for Windows that can be used with Delphi and Lazarus / Free Pascal
- windns.pas contains some header translations for Windows.
