Introduction and demo at maxf.github.io/minitel
You need:
- a minitel
- a DIN-to-USB cable. See Pila's page
- a computer with python3 installed, as well as poetry for package management.
- an key for the OpenAI API
Run poetry install to install the packages needed.
Set the OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable to the value of your API key and run the application. For instance:
OPENAI_API_KEY=abcdef01239wskdfo338y poetry run python 3615-gpt.py
and the intro page should display on your Minitel.
(as provided by the Minitel+ESP32 dongle)
The Minitel+ESP32 dongle provides a way to turn a minitel into a ssh client. Therefore 3615-chatgpt could run on a server, accessible by ssh'ing to it. In order to do so, change your ssh server config and add:
ForceCommand /your/folder/path/minitel/3615-gpt-curses.py
now when your minitel connects to your ssh server, 3615-gpt-curses is run and offers the same service as if you're using a cable to your minitel.
