Self merging as it only touches CI code and now that appveyor is enabled for the project new PRs will fail if this isn't merged. Travis failure is due to issues on their end and me killing the jobs. |

👍 on copying their setup. One note though - if you had C extensions, I don't think this would work on py35 Windows. See https://github.com/ogrisel/python-appveyor-demo, and in particular https://github.com/ogrisel/python-appveyor-demo/blob/master/appveyor/run_with_env.cmd. |
