According to the description here, as shown below:

So, it seems that the MPCONTRIBS_API_KEY must be a legitimate PMG_MAPI_KEY, am I right?

The API key for all next-gen MP services is the same and can be found on your dashboard. A valid key is 32 characters long. You can either set MPCONTRIBS_API_KEY or PMG_API_KEY, they serve the same purpose and only exist for historical reasons. HTH
