Why it is neccessary to keep mathjax under version 3 ?

So for context. Some packages on Gentoo require mathjax-3 now, calibre notably. Debian currently packages mathjax-2 while choosing to bundle mathjax-3 for calibre so they aren't in a hurry to update and as such arent affected.

Mathjax3 had major changed in how its used so it would need code changes.
