Summary

How it is now

MCP works pretty well with work items/modules/initiatives, but it cannot work with epics.

Example

1. When I ask my Claude Code to fetch an epic by task number, it cannot be found
2. When I ask my Claude Code to fetch all subtasks of epic, it cannot be found
3. At the same time, MCP sees parents of subtasks and, after some back and forth, CC finally looks up all tasks whose parent has a particular ID

Why is that a problem

Additional token spend that could have been avoided

How it could be

MCP handles epic entity and can operate them in a same way as any other work items

Why should this be worked on?

It will help Plane's customers spend less tokens when working with Plane MCP
