Description

Description:
Currently, the project is prepared only for Brazilian Portuguese. To broaden its usability and reach a wider audience, it is crucial to implement an internationalization system (i18n) that allows for the easy and scalable inclusion of additional languages.

Motivation:

  • Market Expansion: Facilitate the adoption of the project by users from different regions.
  • Enhanced User Experience: Allow users to interact with the interface in their preferred language.
  • Maintenance and Scalability: Structure the project so that adding new languages is straightforward and keeps the codebase consistent.

Suggested Tasks:

  1. Research and Select a Tool: Evaluate libraries/frameworks suitable for i18n (e.g., i18next, react-intl, or others compatible with the current stack).
  2. Structure Translation Files: Create separate files for each language, starting with Brazilian Portuguese and then adding English as the first additional language.
  3. Refactor the Interface: Update components and text messages to use the translation functions provided by the selected library.
  4. Language Detection and Switching: Implement a method to detect the user's preferred language (via browser settings or configuration) and allow for dynamic language switching.
  5. Documentation: Update the project documentation with guidelines on how to add new languages and maintain translations.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • The project should display text messages according to the selected language.
  • It should be possible to switch between languages in an intuitive way.
  • Documentation must be updated with instructions for future language additions.

Additional Notes:

  • Ensure that internationalization does not negatively impact performance.
  • Consider automated tests to verify that text displays correctly in each language.
  • Take into account cultural and regional nuances during the translation of messages.

Implementing this is an important step towards making the project more accessible and appealing to a global audience.
