Hi, I am Lorenzo! 🏃

🎓 I'm an MSc student in Sports Technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, one of only 36 students admitted to a program unique in Europe for combining sports science, health, computer science, and engineering. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Pisa in 2 years and 10 months, after spending an exchange year at the University of Italian Switzerland (USI) in Lugano.

🏃 I was part of the Dual Career program at the University of Pisa, through which I hold the status of Student-Athlete. As an athlete, I want to make sport my future career — combining athletic experience with technology, data science, and biomechanics to enhance both athletic performance and the fan experience. I'm particularly interested in how data can be used to optimize performance, prevent injuries, and support decision-making for athletes and coaches. Outside of research and code, I work as an athletics official and sports photographer, and I build websites, apps, and digital content for clubs and athletes.

🏆 In 2025, I was awarded 1st place at the Samsung Innovation Campus for the most innovative project in Sports & Technology. I led the development of Track Analyzer, a mobile app based on an AI pipeline for biomechanics analysis — designed to be accurate, fast, and accessible to every coach and athlete, not just elite programs. The project later evolved into Kinepose, and I was invited to speak about it at conferences such as "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Sports Activity."

🚀 My Bachelor's thesis continued in this direction, applying optimization algorithms to sports centres. Titled "Resource Scheduling Optimization for Sports Centres: A CP-SAT Based Approach," it grew out of my internship at Kode, where I developed sportslot.it — software that helps elite sports centres build weekly schedules, optimizing resource allocation to maximize user satisfaction and minimize facility waste.
