This PR is the release candidate for the v2024.07.0 release.

Note: The companion PR that only shows changes between the RC branch and develop is #272. Please review that PR and approve this one to merge.

TODO:

  • Update to Umpire v2024.07.0
  • Update to RAJA v2024.07.0
  • Fix the release date in RELEASE_NOTES.md
  • Tag a new release on the main branch after this merge request is merged (copy the section from RELEASE_NOTES.md, can also refer to the 2024.02.2 release)
  • Create tarball (detailed instructions below for applying a patch to fmt)
  • Upload tarball to GitHub release
  • Copy tarball to location specified in the great library update page AND update permissions
  • Merge main back into develop

Create tarball instructions:

cd <chai root dir>
cd src/tpl/umpire/src/tpl/umpire/fmt/
git apply ../../../../scripts/radiuss-spack-configs/packages/fmt/fmt-no-variable-initialize_10.0.0.patch
cd <chai root dir>
scripts/make_release_tarball.sh
